Ranking tickets

Hi everybody,

I need to do a report on our IT service activity. I have 2 tables, SD_REQUEST is a list of tickets and SD_CATALOG_PATH is a category list for those tickets. They are linked by SD_CATALOG_ID key.

I need to create a pie chart of the top 5 categories.

I tried the following mesure

TOP = RANKX('50005 SD_CATALOG_PATH';SUM('50005 SD_REQUEST'[RFC_NUMBER]);;DESC;Dense)

but it returns the error "The function SUM takes an argument that evaluates to numbers or dates and cannot work with values of type String"

Thanks helping

hi. '50005 SD_REQUEST'[RFC_NUMBER] is a String?.

Check and change if is necessary.

Hello,

Yes RFC_NUMBER is a string. It can be "i170103_003" or "r160308_152".

And if I try with the key REQUEST_ID (which is a number), all the categories are ranked #1.

(note RFC_NUMBER and REQUEST_ID are unique)
