RLS Page Level Security?

Hi All

i have a report with some data deemed sensitvatve to some users, my model consists of a Fact table and Dim_Person and Dim_Dept tables on the one side

what i want to be able to do (if even possible) is if a user (they will be within AD groups) views a certain report page the Dim Tables will filter down based on thier own Dept, otherwise they can see all data on all other pages

im sturggling to come up with a solution, have anyone come across this before? or do i need to start duplicating the Dims tables?

Thnaks in advance

David

Also, I have seen implementations where a summary table is created to display aggregated data. So think, instead of showing numbers down to the department grain, a summary table of the values in the aggregate of all departments.

There isn't really RLS for pages per se.

    Hi Anonymous ,

As Greg_Deckler  said, I think setting up OLS is a good choice. With OLS, you can restrict access not only to data, but also to sensitive object names.

For more details, you can read related blog as below:

If the problem is still not resolved, please point it out. Looking forward to your feedback.

    Best Regards,
    Henry
