RLS Not Passing Through Many to 1 Relationship

I am using RLS with UserPrincipalName from the systemuser table. It is not being passed to the opportunity table though. Any thoughts why? There is a Many to 1 relationship between opportunity and sales_team, but i have the cross filter direction set to both. When I try to Apply security in both directions I get the following error.

Hi @astano05 ,

Did Jai-Rathinavel's reply help you?

If you want to learn more about applying a sucrity filter in both directions, please refer to

Bidirectional cross-filtering in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

And warmly reminder:

When creating cross filtering DAX formulas in Power BI Desktop, use UserPrincipalName. This field is often the same as a user's login, for example joe@contoso.com, instead of UserName. As such, you might need to create a related table that maps UserName or EmployeeID to UserPrincipalName.

Best Regards,

Stephen Tao

With a RLS table its not normally joined at all.

Are you able to provide any sample data?

Make your RLS a disconnected table and use the role definitions to filter the required tables.
