RANKX - Issue not breaking all ties
Hi everyone,
I'm a new user and I appreciate any help on this issue I encountered.
I'm ranking COACH_NM by Over_SC_Weight and I want to break the tie without skipping the ranking sequence. This is the formula I used.
Overall_SC_Rank = if(hasonefilter(SC_Mapping[COACH_NM]),rankx(ALLSELECTED(SC_Mapping[COACH_NM]),calculate(GWP_PL_SC_Fact[Overall_SC_Weight]),,asc,Dense))
It seems to be working except that I noticed that there are 2 COACH_NM -> Tom L Costello and Randall Schreffler that have exactly the same Overall_SC_Weight but they are not tie (Rank 6 and Rank 7). If you scroll down below the image, there are 2 more COACN_NM that have equal Overall_SC_Weight but this time it shows the tie (Rank #25).
Could anyone help me check what is wrong with the DAX formula I used please?
Thank you so much in advance!
Hi sakura13 ,
I make a sample which you can refer to. ‘Overall Rank 1’ is similar to your measure and ‘Overall Rank 2’ is the modified measure.
Overall Rank 1 = IF ( HASONEFILTER ( Student[Name] ), RANKX ( ALLSELECTED ( Student[Name] ), [Average Score],, ASC, DENSE ) ) Overall Rank 2 = RANKX ( ALLSELECTED ( Student[Name] ), ( CALCULATE ( [Average Score] ) + CALCULATE ( MAX ( Score[Chinese] ) ) / 100000 ), , ASC, DENSE )Best Regards,
Icey
