Quickly Update Reports to Use New Tenant Dataflows—Any Tools or Tricks?

Hello,

I’m migrating Power BI reports from an old tenant to a new one. I’ve already copied several dataflows to the new tenant. Now, I need to replicate the reports, which were originally developed in Power BI Desktop and use dataflows from the old tenant as their data source.

Is there an efficient way to redirect all these reports to the new dataflows in the new tenant, without manually updating each one?

Thank you for any suggestions!

  • Hi Mlawali For this update the data source in Transform Data > Data Source Settings within Power BI Desktop to point to the new dataflows. Automate this process for multiple reports using the Power BI REST API to replace data source connections programmatically. Test the updated connections locally before publishing to ensure proper functionality.
