Quickbooks Password not retained

Hi, every time I refresh Power BI Desktop it asks me to login to Quickbooks again. The connection is not retained the next time I start Power BI Desktop. The published (online) report retains the credentials without issue.

Hi, thanks for this. It does resolve the issue temporarily but if you re-open BI Desktop after a few weeks it will again prompt for the Quickbooks credentials unfortunately.

Hi @StefK ,

It sounds like the password is not being saved in the report file. One possible solution is to try saving the password in the QuickBooks connection settings within Power BI Desktop. Here are the steps to do so:

  1. Open the report file in Power BI Desktop.
  2. Go to the Home tab and click on "Transform data"
  3. In the Queries pane, right-click on the QuickBooks connection and select "Data source settings"
  4. In the Data source settings dialog box, select the related data source and click 'Edit permissions' to re-enter the QuickBooks username and password and click "OK."vyiruanmsft_0-1686280969269.png
  5. Save the report file and close Power BI Desktop.
  6. Reopen the report file and see if the password is retained.

In addition, you can try to delete the connection from both locations in order to re-authenticate or to clear out any cached issues with the connection. You can also try connecting to Quickbooks using a live connection to the Power BI service.
