We are migrating from SSAS Connector to Enterprise Gateway. I have two questions.
Quersion 1: Our data is in Azure Cloud and our Cube is internal Microsoft. Is that acceptable by the enterprise gateway?
Question 2: How is it going to do with the existing data set created by the SSAS Connector? All reports and dashboards are based on the data swt and the data set is based on the SSAS Connector. If we just move to Enterprise gateway how the enterprise gateway keeps the existing data set and all reports and dashboard? I am trying to understand how it works.
Thanks,
Guoyong
@guoyongliu This link should outline everything you need to know when migrating from the AS Connector to the Enterprise Gateway. Essentially, it is an in place upgrade. You install the EG, add the current data source, and when you add the user that is using that data source - they are automatically shifted over to the new Enterprise Gateway. It's pretty seamless.
There's a statement in the migration document saying that "The moment you do this, all new and existing reports, along with the dashboard tiles based on those reports, published by Anna, will start to go through the enterprise gateway."
Does the "published" mean that it affects only reports published from power bi desktop? Not the ones created purely via web?
Thanks,
Pavel
