Question About Date Slicers RE: Refreshed data

Is there a way to have date slicers on the "Between" setting (rather than "Relative") where the second date updates automatically after refreshing with new data?

In other words, can the date slicer automatically change/update based on the date range of the new data?

hi, @JRP515

Now when you log out of Power BI and come back to a report, the same items will be selected as when you left.

So for your requirement, it couldn't achieve in power bi for now.

and as a workaround, you add a column to judge if the date is max date then set it in visual/page/report level filter or create a measure do the same work as vaibhavdesai provided.

Hi,

For this you will need to add a calculated column in your Date table as below:

DateToShow = IF( Dates[Date] <= MAX( TransactionTable[Date] ), TRUE(), FALSE() )

Once this is done, you can add a page level filter on 'DateToShow' field and set it to True.

So every time you refresh the data, it will fetch the MAX avaialable date and only show slicer till that date.

Thanks.

Please accept this as a solution if it satisfies the requirement. Appreciate your Kudos. 🙂
