Querying tables that contain data

Hi all,

I don't think this is possible but maybe someone knows how!

When querying a SQL database using Power Bi desktop I see every table available however in this case I'm querying Dynamics NAV which seems to contain a whole bunch of blank tables. Does anyone know how to set the Navigator to only show tables that contain data?

Thanks in advance,

J

  • Hi opticshrew,

It is not possible to set the Navigator to only show tables that contain data. By default, it will return all tables inside the specified database.

As a workaround, maybe you could run custom SQL Query to return all non blank tables. But in that case, you will load all these returned tables into desktop, but cannot select what you need like that in Navigator.

Although that would be great if I wanted to import all tables I don't think this would help me :(

It's worth noting for the future though, thanks!
