Query data from another published dataset?
Hi
I want to get data from another published dataset in the Power BI Service (not premium)
I do not want to recreate the model in the new report since it has alot of complicated measures.
I cant direct query it, because I need to add another data sources too.
I would like to be able to import the whole dataset into my new dataset.
Or atleast use dax to query the published dataset and import the results in the new dataset.
If found this blog post but I did not get it to work.

Any ideas?

Anonymous , You have an option to use the dataset. But in that case, you will not able to add any other thing

Yes, I know that, I even wrote it was not an option.
The only thing I can think of is to create a connection to the dataset in Excel (Analyze in excel). Make a report in excel. And then import the excel data to the new dataset. But there must be a smoother way?Why no option to create a direct OLE DB connection to the published dataset? Or use an API or something?

Hi, Anonymous
I'd like to suggest you use live connection to the published dataset. You can establish a live connection to a shared dataset in the Power BI service, and create many different reports from the same dataset.
For further information, please refer to the document .
