Publishing dashboard overwrite

Hi all,

Sometimes, when I want to publish changes in an existing dashboard, it overwrites a different file than specified.

For example, I want to publish 'dashboard A', thus it has to overwrite 'dashboard A'. However, occasionally, it would overwrite 'dashboard B' instead of 'dashboard A'

Has anybody experienced the same issue? And does anyone know how to solve this problem 🙂

Thanks!

  • Anonymous , I am assuming you mean report here. One you publish from the desktop.

I have not faced this issue. Do you have the same report publish to two workspaces and you are re  publishing to a different workspace sometimes?

      Hi amitchandak,

      Thanks for your reply!

No, I am not republishing the report in other workspaces. I wanted to overwrite the report that's in the power bi service from my desktop. Occasionally, it overwrites the wrong report that's also in the workspace, even though the names don't match with each other.

I know this sounds impossible, that what I thought too..

        Hi Anonymous ,

It is weird... Which report and visualizations do these tiles of dashboard A and B come from? Are they from different reports and different visuals? In addition, what changes did you make? Which specific visuals are these changes for? Could you provide some screenshots (include the involved visuals and making changes etc.) to illustrate your problem?

        Best Regards
