Published report keeps using Personal Mode gateway............Help
Hi,
I have completely uninstalled the personal gateway, restarted pc etc etc. But everytime I publish a Power Bi Desktop report using a SQl server source, it is creating a new Gateway Cluster name as Personal mode, when i want to use a gateway connection created by sysadmins to the same sql server.
Why is it created a Personal mode when i publish? When i go to semeantic settings, the gateways and cloud connections area says -
You don't have any data gateways and is greyed out and I can't edit it. I can't find a way to connect to the data gateways which was created for me to attach to.
Any help appreciated

Gateways have defined connections. Whenever you create a report, if you want to use a gateway you must ensure that the source you have used matches one of those defined connections. On top of this, the connection has a "managed users" section which has to grant you access to this connection.
Troubleshoot using these steps
- Check that you have used an identical data source connection. I.e. if you have a file on a network drive, if your file uses O:\Folder\File.ext but your gateway has \\server\Folder\File.ext that will be considered different.
- Check with your gateway administrator that you have been granted permissions to the connect
- Check that your source is not a cloud source which you have access to via Power BI without the need for a gateway, such as SharePoint Online or Power Platform.
