Properties pane / Display Folder for measures not accessible in Power BI Desktop April 2026
- Anonymous6 months ago
Hi Steve_Scotland ,
Power BI Desktop April 2026 should not exhibit this behaviour for a standard Import mode PBIX file. When using a local model, selecting a measure should display the Properties pane on the right, with options such as Name, Description, Display Folder, formatting settings, and other properties. The Model view icon should also appear in the left navigation pane.
If both the Model view icon and Properties pane are missing, this typically indicates a local Power BI Desktop issue rather than normal product behaviour. Common causes include temporary UI layout issues, corrupted local cache or user profile, or an incomplete update after installing a new version.
Given that this occurs with a standard Import model and even in a blank PBIX file, it is likely related to the local installation rather than the report itself. Running a Repair on Power BI Desktop via Windows Settings, followed by a reboot, often resolves the issue and restores the missing features.
This is not an expected setting or behaviour for this version.
Thank you.
Hello
I "repaired" PowerBi (hadn't thought of doing that)
Completely rebooted PC (I do so every week as some progs not good at releasing memory)
Loaded PBI
Everything back where I needed.
Thank you
My entry for numptie of the week
Not to mention having lost two hours faffing about trying to get it.
Have a good weekend
