Profit and Loss

Morning, I am creating a profit and loss.

I have Indexed or categorised my amounts into income and expenses etc.

However how do I get subtotals to add or subtract.

Disclaimer - new to BI

Eg Sum index 1 plus sum index 2

I am trying to acheive the sub totals to appear for example Total Governtment Funding is B16 plus B15 in my template uploaded to Power bi but the matrix is not allowing the measure to add.

Hi @Babycakes,

Out of the box, you cannot have the same format as what you have in your sample result. However, you can create hierarchy so your data shows the subtotal as well as the grand total similar to below

If you want an output that is similar to below, I'm attaching  a sample pbix to help you get started. This will require some advanced DAX skills.
