Hi,
we have a project with Icon Map visual and we use images (jpeg, size cca 300-600 kB) in this visual. If we "publish" the project on the web the images are displayed to the users from the cloud space. If we have the project open in the desktop version of PowerBI and we use links to images from the web, the images are also displayed to users. However, if we upload the images to the corporate cloud storage (to avoid any problem when removing images from the public space of the internet), the images stop displaying in the desktop version of PBI. Now we are looking for the reason why the image shows up in the web version of PBI and not in the desktop version. The link used for the image is the same. Any idea what could be the problem? Probably something needs to be enabled in the browser or PBI security?
Thank you for your help.
Mila
Hi @Mila22 ,
Can you provide more details about the exact format of the link to the image? This information will help to further diagnose the problem.
Best Regards,
Adamk Kong
Link is https://"company_name".my.sharepoint.com/ and followed by the address of the employee's personal file (image address).
Hi,
A project in PowerBI is stored on the corporate repository and is accessible to a select group of employees. The image in jpeg format is stored in the company account of the specific employee on sharepoint. Ö The image is made available to the same group of people as the project in PowerBI. The link between the project in powerBI and the photos stored on sharepoint is established through a hyperlink to sharepoint. If we use the desktop version of PowerBI, and we save such a project to the corporate storage, the links to the images stop working. We probably need to enable something else, but we don't know what.
