Problem with connection to Sybase IQ database

Hi ldelataille,

When you connect Sybase IQ database in Power BI desktop, which  Sybase connector did you use? Could you please share more details? 

For connecting Sybase IQ database, you can install SAP SQL Anywhere driver on your computer, make sure that the driver you install matches your Power BI Desktop installation (32-bit or 64-bit).  Then connect to Sybase IQ database by "Get Date"->"Sybase Database". For another thing, create a ODBC data source for your Sybase IQ database, more details, please follow the instructions in the article , then connect to the ODBC data source via ODBC entry in Power BI Desktop.

    Yes, I installed the SQL Anywhere Driver on my computer, and I followed all the steps that you mentioned. I can access to the connector and fill the identification form but I have an error on the "count parameter". I don't know what it means.

     

    Hundreds of Users in my enterprise will use Power BI after this test and I want the procedure to be as easy as possible. That's why I want to use the "Sybase Database Connector" and avoid if possible the use of the ODBC connector.

     

    Do you have any idea of what this "count parameter" means in this case ?

        Hi Folks

         

        I htink I have the solution...or at least the track to follow

        SAP provided an OSS note (2491889) which explains that there is probably a bug in the network client. 

        I did not have the chance to test, but I guess, the correction needs to be apply on the server side.

         

        So, the way to connect to SAP IQ without issue is to use ODBC connection defined at the OS level after SQL anywhere has been installed. 

        Then it works...
