Problem with Table total (no measure)

Hi,

I am encountering a strange behavior with the table visual. The sum of the DauerTD column does not equal the sum of the total while the total is correct:

In SQL my dataset looks like this. The data for the red marked area is missing in PowerBI

No measure is involved, no filters applied and also I did refresh PowerBI a couple of time.

I have no clue how this can happen. Does someone have an idea?

Hey @_chris_ ,

A bug is very unlikely; 1-to-many relationships are at the core of the Power BI dataset.

One thing you can try is to use the clean and trim functions inside Power Query on the linkkey columns in both tables to get rid of nonvisible characters.

Without having access to the pbix I assume it's difficult to provide further guidance.

it looks like you have created a data model where the table that contains "Projekt" is related to your SQL table.

My assumption is that the missing row from the SQL has no relation to the "Project" table, meaning that the value from the related SQL table is blank or the value is missing in the related project table.

Hopefully, this provides an idea of how to tackle your challenge.

Hi Tom,

thanks for your reply. However, unfortunately, this does not help. I have two tables which are connected through a link key. With relation activated, the error occurs:

Turning off the relation and filtering for this link key gives me all lines of data. You can see that in the detail table the link key is set correctly

Turning on the relation again and enabling "Show elements without data" gives the following:

To me this does not make any sense... 

Any other idea?

Hey @_chris_ ,

assuming both tables are related by 1-to-many relationship the problem you are facing is an indication that keys from the table of the many-side are missing in the table on the one-side.

From the screenshots the origin of the linkkey column is not clear.

An easy way to spot the existence of missing values is

• create a slicer from the linkkey column from the table on the one-side (make sure the relationship is activated

I'm pretty sure that first element of the slicer is (Null)

Hopefully this helps to tackle your challenge.

Thanks again, I tested everything. I have a proper 1:n relationship, no NULLS and no double values on the 1 side. Now I put the LinkKey field from the master and from the detail table as you can see. The LinkKey matches 100% but still no data is shown.

How likely is a bug in PowerBI? Would you recommend to open a case with Microsoft?
