Problem with SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR getting wrong number
I have Free PBI Desktop v2.105 (64 bit free version November 2022) on 64-bit Windows Server 2019 Datacenter v1809.
I'm having a problem where the SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR is not calculating the right amount. I made AnnualGoals[Sales Last Year] which is a new column, not a measure. I checked my table connections and they look correct. I have a calendar table which connects the invoice dates so that should be correct, and the date filter also uses the calendar table date. The sales for Jim Green for same period last year (1/1/2021 to 5/31/21) should be $4000.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I've never used SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR before.
Can anyone help please? I'm attaching a zip file with the PBIX file and the source spreadsheet called SalesTeamTest.zip. The spreadsheet has many tabs. The main tab for this issue is Invoice (it contains actual sales).
p.s. I am able to redesign the columns in the spreadsheet as the data source (Excel spreadsheet) the sales team gave me, well I could not get it to work. They add columns to it every year and when PBI does a refresh after they add columns, the report breaks.
