Problem connecting with mysql
Hi,
Cannot find the problem I have.
I am connecting with the latest PBI to a 64-bits ODBC connection using a MySQL Database (Mysql ODBC 5.3 Unicode Driver).
I can extract the tables easily in PowerBI but the problem arises when I try to use custom SQL. Then the error occurs. It says
We encountered an error while trying to connect
Details: "ODBC: ERROR [3D000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.3(w) Driver]
[mysqld-5.7.17-log]No database selected"
I am stuck with this, it must be something small I am doing wrong!

I think I found the solution. When I connect to another database free hand SQL is working well so it seems it has to have something to do with granting access on the database. This topic can be closed!
