Preview Features Missing Even With Latest Desktop Version

Hi,

I have the October 2024 update on my machine but I don't see many of the Preview Features availalae in the Global Options.

I don't have Calculation Groups or the New Format Pane. I can see that I have the latest version and this isn't on a new machine.  Does anyone have any guidance? Thanks

Hi, please try the following:

  1. some of the new features, including Calculation Groups and the New Format Pane, are Preview Features and need to be manually enabled. Here's how to do that:

->Open Power BI Desktop.

->Go to File → Options and Settings → Options.

->In the Options window, navigate to Preview Features on the left sidebar.

->Ensure that the boxes for the following features are checked: Calculation Groups, New Format Pane (if available), Any other relevant preview features you're interested in.

->After enabling the desired features, you will need to restart Power BI Desktop for them to take effect.

Note: If these options aren’t appearing in the Preview Features section, it could be a bug or a delay in feature rollout. Try restarting Power BI or reinstalling it if necessary.

2. If you installed Power BI Desktop via the Microsoft Store, it's possible there’s a delay in feature rollout. You can try the following:

->Microsoft Store: Check for updates in the Microsoft Store app, and if available, update the app.

->Direct Download: If you want to ensure you're on the latest version immediately, download Power BI Desktop directly from the Power BI website and reinstall it.

3. Ensure that you're indeed on the latest version of Power BI Desktop:

->Go to File → Options and Settings → Options → About.

->Check the version number. For the October 2024 update, the version number should be 2.1200.xxxx.xxxx or higher.

->If you don't see the latest version number, you might need to download the latest version directly from the Power BI Download Center.

If this helps, please let me know.

I appreciate the quick response but I don't even have that view available with the Semantic Model. I have the older layout without the newer panes.
