Hi Community,
Does anyone use Power App Visual in Power BI and linked the Power BI data to Power Apps?
When I was navigated to Power Apps, I can see the Power Integration in my navigators, however, I was unable to see any data in it and I can't changes the gallery ' item to PowerBIIntergation.
I guess there are some missing steps?

(For anyone who also have interest in powerapps visuals)
Many Thanks.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Try this
- start with a fresh Power BI Desktop
- Help ... Sample Data ... Load
- Add Country, Sales and Year to a table visual
- change the visual to a PowerApps visual
- authenticate and let PowerApps do its thing
You end up with an automatically added gallery
Save and share
Back in Power BI change pages, change back, then select existing app
Pick your app, and you're done
FYI I was facing same issue today (November 2024)
I managed to solved it by adding the PowerApps visual and select "Create New App" directly from PowerBi Webapp in the navigator.
It seems that trying to do that from Power BI desktop is not working propely right now and PowerBIIntregration bring an empty Data collection.
Once setup was done. I just saved report on the navigator and continue my work on a freshly new .pbix downloaded locally.
This is the real solution 😊
HI,
Yes I have done this in the past with other power apps integrations. The problem is having to recreate a large power app. Copying and pasting code helps only a little until you find out that any positioning functions and variables are not copied across only the calculated value.
The fact that months of work is lost because of invisible connection code gets corrupted with no ability to refresh the connection is laughably ridiculous and typical Microsoft business as usual.
I have since abandoned the plaform and convinced my boss to just make browser based apps that communicate with an api that is ~100 times faster than power apps with 1/2 the development time and a order magnitude more flexibility and expandibilty.
havin the same problem as the prev. poster also opened powerApps from powerBI directly but still the data is not showing there
I have tried for months on and off to get this working but to no avail.
I have tried all the iterations multiple times plus variations and i still cant get PowerBIIntergration to link to my data sets in Power Bi.
Is there a setting i have missed in PowerApps or Power BI i have missed?
I have watched and tried copying endless videos, but cant find one that works.
Any guidance on what im doing wrong will help.
Regards
Carl
Hey @Carl143 , Did you get any solution for this?
I am using Dataverse, same issue with me. Tried with Sample data as well, still no luck.
I have a critical level ticket with MS and 3 hours of meetings and still no answer.
As Ibendlin mentions below
You have to use the Web Browser version of PowerBi to link Powerapps.
Regards
Carl
Yes I've been doing that
My issue resolved after creating the app in Power BI service
Yes I did that too.
The only way to make it work is to create the PowerApp from within the Power BI visual. You will never get the integration if you create the PowerApp natively.
Yes that is what I did
I had this issue - after adding the Power Apps visualization, nothing showed in my Power Apps. None of the fields I passed were showing.
To solve this, I was able to go in through the edit in Power Bi, to edit my Power Apps. My app was blank - nothing there, but the Power BI Integration tag was showing as a connection.
I first added a vertical gallery, connected it to the Power Bi integration. Once I did that I was then able to type in the PowerBiintegration.data.fieldname and get forms and other things to work. For some reason it wanted the gallery first, then that made the connection. After that I deleted the gallery and was still able to use my form. Phew! Why are these simple things so hard!
Still not works.
Appreciate anyone can give me a clue about the possible solutions

You obviously did not read the OPs message - your response IS NOT a solution!
I have an embeded power app that had successful passing of power bi data and then I made an edit, by starting the edit in power bi, which i have done dozens of times. And now the data does not transfer in the live power bi report anymore.
This isn't even close to the solution. That issue still exists
Hi @lbendlin,
I'm sorry but I don't understand what do you mean. If it is possible, can you maybe screenshot or record a video of how you do it ? Because for now, I think the steps you suggest is exactly the same as @wizardball. I have this problem for a couple of days and just stumble upon your post. Thank you very much
