Hello, I have PowerBI version 2.79.5768.1082 64-bit (March 2020) on my desktop, and I have been using it successfully for some workouts using CSV files. I tried to connect to an Oracle database and received the message "The recommended provider ('Oracle.DataAccess.Client') is not installed..." So I followed the link and downloaded ODAC122011_x64.zip for my 64-bit system. Then I installed it, and indicated a successful completion. However, even after a restart, I still receive the same message. Any idea what to check to see why it says it's not installed yet? Thank you in advance for any response.
@RDaugherty You need to make sure you follow the instruction in the read file. Also, make sure the path has been added to the environment, else will not work.
I added like these. Make sure you change based on your location
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the installer already added ...\client_1\bin to the path. I added ...\odp.net\bin as well, like you suggested, but that didn't help. I rechecked the zip file, and there is no help file.
ODAC122011_x64.zip is the file I downloaded and installed (for my 64-bit Windows 10 system). That was the right one, correct?
Hi @RDaugherty ,
Please try to download the zip file of 64-bit ODAC 12c Release 4 (12.1.0.2.4) and install it. You can refer the following documentations for more details.
Oracle.DataAccess.Client is not installed
Struggling with Oracle DB Connection
Best Regards
