Hello all,
I've got a file on sharepoint from which I'm downloading data to my powerbi file. It works fine when I refresh in on desktop but when published to cloud refresh option does absolutely nothing. Do you by any chance know how to chage that?

Hi @Anonymous
I’m not quite sure about the meaning of “downloading data” in your question.
If you downloaded the file from sharepoint, and then create the report in desktop and publish to service, then you’d like to keep synchronization between desktop and service, you should republish the report or install the gateway to make sure when source data changed the dataset in service will change, too.
Details please refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-desktop-file-local-drive and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-install
If you didn’t download the file, but connect to the online file using desktop directly, and then publish the report to service. You can use refresh now to update your dataset, but the precondition is that you should configure the credential in your service. Make sure it’s same as the one you used in desktop.
