PowerBI help with Cosmos DB, Decryption and Azure Blob
Hi,
- We are facing issues getting the live connection between Power BI and Cosmos DB (MongoDB API) to play nicely and work together. The connection can be established but we are unable to get data from the source into the PowerBI desktop itself. Is there any solution or workaround for this? We are looking for a live connection solution.
- There are certain fields that are encrypted in the Cosmos DB (MongoDB API) using client side AES encryption key stored in Azure Key Vault. Is there any method to do on-the-fly client-side decryption with Azure Services or within Power BI itself? This would greatly reduce the effort needed to decrypt - extract - load the data for visualisation in Power BI.
- We are experimentating using Azure Blob to push data into Power BI. Are there methods to dynamically load Azure Blob data through. parameterised / regex or conditional selection of Azure Blobs in order to update the dashboard automatically? An example of a requirement is loading all the blobs from x days ago.
We are using Power BI Desktop (Oct 2019), Cosmos DB Mongo API 3.6.
Thanks for all the help in advance!

Hi Azbkwek ,
1. Cosmos DB doesn't support "Live Connection":
2. I didn't find relevant documentation that says this can be achieved.
3. Maybe you can use Incremental refresh.
