PowerBI desktop import storage: calculated measures and columns are gone after refresh

kurtdebuyck_0-1670589592982.png

PowerBI desktop import storage: every time I refresh the data the calculated measures and columns (on the right side) are gone after this refresh and I have to make the measures and columns again.  How can I avoid that?

Thank you for an answer.

Kurt.

yes, de pbix-file is read only

what's your rationale for that? In order to keep the changes you made the file needs to be writable. Or you would have to save it under a different name.

Whenever you make severe changes to your Power Query (for example changing from an Excel source to a web source) there is a risk that you break measures, groups, and relationships.  If you did not make any severe meta data changes then these items should not be affected.

Are you sure you have saved the Power BI file before closing?

yes, I closed PowerBI before refresh and I didn't make severe changes.  Just weird and frustrating that the measures and columns are gone every time.

Can you please check if the file is read only?
