PowerBI desktop does not open august 2020

My PowerBI desktop will not open as of today. Just launching the app or opening a pbix file both don't work.  When starting the app it doesn't do anything, it doesnt even appear in Task Manager.  I...

    Still not sure what the problem was but I performed a system recovery and now running the PowerBI app July version without problems.

    Just installed an old versioen (May2017) and that one opens without any problems. 

    So it must have to do something with the newest version which seems to be available as of today.

     

    amitchandak Im not sure what you mean by installing using admin privileges.

      Hi  Datamijn ,

       

      Try to uninstall all the versions,then install the lastest one via below link:

      https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/desktop/

      Run it as an administrator,see below:(Start >search for "desktop")

       

       Finally reboot your computer.
