I published to my workspace a powerbi report/dashboard that utilized the userprincipalname function. https://exceltown.com/en/tutorials/power-bi/powerbi-com-and-power-bi-desktop/dax-query-language-for-...
I see the above and what is the difference in powerbi.com and desktop? I have published it, do I need to publish it elsewhere than my workspace? I am logged in.
Thanks.

I figured it out.
@vnicholl , Issues is not clear, Using the security option in three dots of you dataset you can test on power bi service.
Using the security option, you have to assign security to other users and then share reports with those users
How to use Row Level Security (RLS): https://youtu.be/NfdIA0uS6Nk
I don't understand what you are saying.
In Power BI Desktop, I click on the 3 elipsees to the right of my databases. These are databases that reside on another system and are brought in by using the get data choice. I do not see a security option in that drop down menu.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-rls Yes that is what I did. I have a key in 2 of the tables, those are the only ones I use. I have the link between the field that I am using for security between both tables. I have a relationship between the tables if you look into "manage relationships", its there and is active. I have manage roles, with the key on one table (not the one I'm displaying). Are you saying that I can't have a security table, I have to define security in the table that displays the fields, so in other words, joining/merging a field won't work?
THanks.
