PowerBI & Spatial Data Questions
Hi residentx ,
Unfortunately, we do not have direct influence over the Microsoft training workshop roadmap, but your suggestion for a dedicated “Maps in a Day” workshop is honestly very reasonable. I suggest you raise your feedback around the geospatial experience and discoverability in Microsoft Fabric Ideas since Microsoft does actively review customer feedback there.
Regarding your tenant question, the standard map visuals are not limited only to corporate M365 tenants. They are generally available across both personal and corporate environments, but availability and behaviour can vary depending on tenant settings, regional policies, licensing, preview features and how the environment is configured. That is also why AI-generated guidance can sometimes be inconsistent or outdated, especially since Microsoft has moved and renamed some of these settings over time. Your approach of revisiting the older files and comparing workflows is probably a good path forward here, especially since you already have prior experience with the Microsoft geospatial stack.

v-hjannapu This is my final comment on this post. The US Census had it's first GeoForum this past week and the videos will post here shortly. The Fabric team should view some of these videos to see the evolution and strategy of their Geo Products. https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/geography/events/geoforum.html

Hi residentx,
Thanks for sharing the information regarding the US Census GeoForum. Resources like these can definitely be valuable for users working with geospatial analysis and evolving mapping technologies. They also provide useful insight into broader Microsoft industry direction and real-world geospatial use cases, which can help inform future documentation, guidance and learning content around mapping experiences.
If you have any other issues, please feel free to create new posts here in the community, We are always happy to help.
