PowerBI: Urgent Help

There are 3 tables in the data. State, city & place. State->City->Place is the hierarchy order & have 1 to many relationships in the same order. In the PowerBI report I created 3 table visuals which will filter the data in the order State->City->Place. Now If I click on AP in state then City(VSKP & VZM) is filtered. Now I clicked on VSKP in city then Place table is filtered(RK Beach & Rushikonda). But the problem is AP in state table & VSKP in city table are not highlighted. I want to see AP, VSKP, RK Beach & Rushikonda highlighted.

  • Hi Anonymous ,

Whenever you create a slicer visual in Power BI, there is a setting for Show Summary which you can use for this purpose.

For example, I created a multi-select slicer visual with turning this option on:

What is setting is doing, it is showing the selected value in your slicer against the slicer header:

(currently shows ALL as I haven't selected anything in the slicer)

Once I start selecting values, this value keeps on changing:

Just see if this option works in your case.

Thanks Pragati11 for the reply. The requirement is I cannot use slicers as there are so many values. The client requirement is (Route->Trip->Stop hierarchy order) Particular route, in that route particular trip wise stops they want to see. So they want to know for which Route, which trip, the stops are showing.

Hi Pragati11 , I cannot use slicers to filter the data. I can use only tables because in the table there are other columns such as revenue etc... Client may sort the revenue column/any other column in the table & wants to check the lowest revenue wise buses. In this case he will click on that row only.
