Hello everyone,

I am working on a very complex report and need help with the overall look and feel, as well as with the development of the user experience and accessibility. I am looking for someone with a strong understanding of data storytelling.

Hi @ManchevB ,

Column charts can be useful to display numeric data. If categories as less you can use a Column chart to have it display like this-

If you have more categories to show, the you can even consider using stacked bar graph.

Yes it is always a good practise to add Chart title for your charts so that it becomes easy to understand the context of the data.

Hope this helps!

Hi @ManchevB ,

The donut chart would look more presentable if you can include the categories into a single chart.
Because that serves as the whole point; to differentiate the distrubition on various categories. A singlr donut chart for a single category is not informative and doesnt serve its purpose. If you would like to show single KPI per category you can instead choose a card visual per category.

Donut chart for different category.

do you think a column chart like this for the level is easy to understand also should I add a title that this is indeed a level breakdown?

Hello, the report I am working on consists of one SQL connected table that feeds data from our company skills tool, where each employee can submitt skills. The 3 main columns are Skill Family, Skill Category and Skill Name. I need to create a userfriendly modern look and feel with that data. Ideally I am looking to get some feedback when I have a working report and also an example that I can use as inspiration

Hi @ManchevB

If you post a PBIX file I'd be happy to give feedback on it.

Also if you post sample data in a useable format (not a screenshot) I could make an example for you.
