PowerBI Model fetching data from 2 AAS servers
Hi All,
I have a question regarding modelling a powerBI model.
I have 2 AAS instances where my data resides for 2 similar organizations.
I have a requirement from client where he wants to build 1 PowerBI model which can fetch data from 2 AAS instances at same time and can analyze the data for both the organizations at the same time.
Since the data is huge, I can only have live connection to AAS instances.
Please advise how can I have 1 model build on top of 2 AAS instances and fetch the data in a single powerBI model?
Thanks,
Shampy

Hi Anonymous
The function you mentioned above is called “DirectQuery for Power BI datasets and Azure Analysis Services (AAS)” .It’s a preview feature in new version Desktop . You can use DirectQuery to connect to AAS or Power BI datasets and if you want, combine it with other DirectQuery and imported data.
If you want use the function ,you need update your Desktop to the latest version and turn on it in Options .
More info about it can refer to the link below .

Anonymous , Try to add another connection, for the Power Bi dataset in the new version we are able to add two live connections, but they become direct queries once we do that
