PowerBI Metrics Disconnecting from Data

Hello! I just started using PowerBi scorecard and metrics in the desktop app. This is a great tool for me to connect to KPIs from different reports in apps or other workspaces. All my metrics are connected to data in other reports, so they automatically update. However, I noticed that some of my KPIs from an app disconnected automatically. I think the app owner published a new version of the same report in the app. I'm not sure if this is what cause the metric to disconnect from the data.

Has anyone seen this issue with the metrics? Is there a way to prevent it?
