PowerBI Filled map stops loading locations

Dear Community,

 

I've run into an issue where I need to locate the different Zip Codes on a text-form, since some of the zip codes will be located incorrectly, since it starts with 0, 00 or 000. Whenever the map visual has to display these zip codes, it will return approximately 20-30 locations, before stopping. When I then hit refresh, it will return another 20-30 locations.

 

Sometimes it works like a charm, sometimes it doesn't. Especially if the .pbix and .xlsx file is stores in a shared folder, within my corporation, it will stop refreshing before having located all of the zip codes.

 

Is this a known issue, and is there somehow I can fix this?

It takes ages to locate all of the zip codes on the map, since I have to hit refresh 20 times before it will show all of the locations.

 

NB - my data does not exceed 3500 locations, whereas it is not an issue of hitting the cap.

    Hi Anonymous ,

    I can’t reproduce your issue.  I suggest you to try to change the data category of the zip code to postal code. And please use three-letter abbreviation location, if you use two-letter abbreviations, map visual may not correctly analysis the address.

    If you failed again, please post the sample data, then we can help you as soon as possible.

    Hi @,

     

    1. Please make sure the option wasn’t ticked in your desktop. Otherwise the filter will be reset every time.

    2. If you didn’t tick the option above, could you please share us the detailed procedure that you created the functional filter URL?

         There’s 2 ways to filter the report in service, and get the link related.

    • Open the report in Editing view, apply the filter, and save the report. Then simply copied the URL link generated.
    • Filter a report using query string parameters in the URL

    The filter is still kept if you open it from desktop using above 2 methods. More details please refer : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-share-reports

     

    More details preferred if the issue still exist .
