PowerBI Desktop and 2008 Analysis Services Cubes

I have a bunch of Analysis Services 2008 Cubes I am trying to integrate with PowerBI Desktop.  I keep getting error messages. I wonder if I am doing something wrong or they are just not compatible?

Servers must be running SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU4 or later versions of Analysis Services for the Power BI Desktop SSAS MD connector to work properly.
