PowerBI Desktop Resize Window Insanity Bug

In certain situations, the PNI Windows frame becomes un-resizable.  This seems to occur in multi-monitor situations primarily, when dragging pbi from one monitor to another, of different resolutions (say Laptop to desktop monitor). The lower window frame becomes hidden, out of mouse range on the lower portion of the monitor. The typically renders the application useless, as the report tabs are hidden. Since PowerBI desktop is NOT resizable from the upper frame, one cannot reduce the size of the window, to allow the lower frame to be visible.

Once in this situation, no amount of messing about with KEYBOARD window moving etc seems to rectify the situation.

So, this has been found by other users, but MS seems to say "by design". Well, its not. Its a bug.. There is not another single windows application I can find that does not allow resizing from the top window frame. Its insanity.

Please fix this before more co-pilot etc stuff. - Thanks in advance

Hi @philha  - Can you please follow the steps:

Close Power BI Desktop.
Navigate to the C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\ folder.
Locate and delete the file named UserPBIDesktopHost.config.
Reopen Power BI Desktop. The window should now reset to its default size and position.

in your machine or laptop too,Go to Settings > System > Display.

Match the scaling percentages across both monitors.
Drag Power BI back into view.
Once the window is adjusted, you can revert to your preferred scaling.

Solved: Automatic window resizing - Microsoft Fabric Community

Hope the above steps and solved thread helps.

Thanks - Yep I had figured out the Display Resolution recovery mechanism.

However, I am using Power BI Desktop Store App which runs in a sand box. Try as I might, could not find that config file.

My real point, is WHY ? Seems minor thing, yet so aggrevating.

Regarding your issue, I have also tried adjusting the window size, but even at its smallest, the upper frame size cannot be changed:
