I'm having and issue getting my instance of Power BI Desktop to connect to Power BI Service.  When I attempt to publish all I get is the 'Enter Email Address' prompt. I enter known good credentials for both the email address and the password, but once the box disappears nothing else happens. I no longer get the pop-up in which I'm supposed to select the workspace I want to publish to. Also, the 'Sign in' function in the top right never shows my username. Although when I click on it, it gives me Sign-out, Profile, and Power BI Service options as though I'm signed in.  This has happened since my organization has started enforcing the use of the Windows Authenticator app and I'm wondering if that has any impact.

This issue will be fixed in the February version of desktop, please use the latest version in time!

I've just installed the latest version of Power BI Desktop (Version: 2.127.1327.0 64-bit (March 2024)) and On-Premises Gateway (Gateway version number: 3000.214.8 (March 2024)) and I'm still having the same issue.

This is a known issue. The engineers are already trying to fix it and I'll reply here if there's any follow up.

@M_Capps This issue migth be because of VPN or Proxy please check that as well.

What am I checking for in the VPN and Proxy?

We have whitelisted the below:

• app.powerbigov.us
• api.powerbigov.us
• Domains in the *.analysis.usgovcloudapi.net namespace
