PowerBI Crash- Autorecovery File saved as .LOCK

Hello,

My PowerBI file just crashed and lost several hours worth of work. I reopened PowerBI to open the Autorecovered file (there was a prompt that appeared allowing me to recover the file). However, the app crashed again and the prompt no longer opens. In my Autorecover folder, I managed to grab the file I need, but all the files inside the Autorecovery folder are saved as .LOCK files.

Can anyone help me access my file???? Thanks.

Hi @twilson ,

The auto-recovery feature may not have successfully saved your files, if it's all .lock files that means the files are corrupted. power bi itself does not lock any of your files.

Here are some questions that are similar to yours that I hope will help you:

Solved: File recovery - Microsoft Fabric Community

Solved: Tried to open a .lock file now powerBI is stuck in ... - Microsoft Fabric Community

If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Best Regards,

Clara Gong
