PowerBI App - Unable to Export to Excel

Hi,

I am trying to export a simple table I have built in PowerBI App (online not desktop) however it will not allow me to do so.

When I click on Export, I have an option for 'Analyse In Excel' - when I click this, I get an error message saying:

It does however then download an excel however when I open the attachment I get another error message:

This behaviour is observed by all users that try to export this report to excel.

Please can you provide some guidance. Essentially, the users need to be able to download a snapshot of the table so that they can review offline (i.e. they are not trying to make any changes to the PowerBI report itself, purely for analysis purposes).

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @weda9001

You click the menu on the toolbar.

Instead, you must choose a specific visualization.

Hi @weda9001

From the screenshots, it appears that you tried to export the whole report instead of a specific table.
Please follow the steps below to export the table:
1.

2. Choose layout option from 1 or 2 on the picture.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Where are you clicking in order to get the option that says "Export Data"?

When I click the 3 dots (...) at the top of my report, the options I get are:

Hi, did you find how to have the option to export when clicking on the 3 dots ? I have the same problem. I don't have this option. Thanks in advance !
