Power bi get data from databases

hi all

I am doing power bi models directly connected to the CSV or folders from my computer, the problem is that I am the only one able to manipulate the model and raw data since the source is the address of my desktop.

My concern is that I will change a role in my company in a few months, therefore the new person wont be able to manipulate the files since everything is from my source.

The question is, what are the best options to maintin the power bi models created in a way that is easy to transfer the responsibility from one person to another.

Any material to learn will be appreciated.

Thank you.

There is an option Data Source Setting or Edit Data Source setting in Model View under home tab. In New Ribbon it is under Transform data.

The new user can go ahead and change the sources. It will pick up date from new sources.

Hi @amitchandak

What do you think of Azure? Have you used it or recommend it?

Thanks!

I have not tested that. But if you access the central system it should work. Like when we use the database, the same file work when we change the system.

Ok thanks, will do that!

One final question, is it possible to change the source from a specific CSV to a folder?

Thanks!
