Hi Team,
Our end user who is a power bi pro user has generated a report and published this report within Power BI desktop and shared the link with a user who is a power bi free user.
However, the end user reports he needs a pro subscription to view the shared link or reports.
I was advised they were able to view this shared link before and were asking if anything from Microsoft's end has changed.
i looked through articles, but couldn't find any conclusive answer
Note:i am new to power bi
Solved! Go to Solution.
This is the expected behaviour. Power BI requires pro license for sharing - both the publishers and viewers of the report need Pro. You can get around this using Premium, but it's very costly so works only when you have LOTS of viewers.
I suspect the viewer had a free trial of Pro before and that has expired. Microsoft usually grant this automatically for 60 days or thereabouts, so if that sounds like the approximate timeframe that it was working for, I would say the viewer had a free trial that has since expired, so now you need to assign them a Power BI pro license.

Thank you
You're welcome @nishan121, glad I could help .
Please mark the post that helped as the solution, rather than the 'thank you'. If you changed something from the post or have something to add, you can write that in your post and then mark your own post as the solution to help others, but marking the correct post as the solution helps others find it easily as the 'solution' posts get surfaced to the top of the thread.
Welcome to the Power BI community!
