I am currently experiencing a lag when I try to open an embedded power apps in power bi. It wasn't the case before as it was an instant loading of the app when i opened it via a bookmark. However, it now takes about 15 - 20 seconds to open which is very frustrating.
Has anyone experienced this and able to resolve the problem?
Hello,
I came to this forum searching for this issue. Exactly the same thing has started happening approx. 2 weeks ago. Every Power app that is embedded into a Power BI report has a much slower startup, the default Power Apps loading screen never displays, it just launches you into the app after 15-20 seconds. When I try to start the same app from Power Apps portal, it starts up much quicker.
Is Microsoft investigating this? I have seen some people discussing this on Reddit as well.
Hi @Yomzy1 , Hope you are doing well. Kindly let us know if the issue has been resolved or if further assistance is needed. Your input could be helpful to others in the community.
I have exactly the same issue as @Yomzy1 . I've tested with a minimal test Power app with just two controls embedded in a new Power BI report with only one page and I get the same problem in different tenant environments, different browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox) and different PCs. Even with this minimal app and report it takes around 15-20s to show the embedded app.
Hi @Mihael_Modic_ex , If you have tried all the suggestions given above and it still didn't work for you, then i would suggest raising a Microsoft Support ticket .

Hi @Mihael_Modic_ex , Thanks for the update. Please do share the results after it gets resolved, it will help others with similar issues.
The problem has not been resolved. The lag continues. It takes 15-20 secs or more sometimes for the apps to load. It's very frustrating as I've tested all the individual components which are fine.
Hi @Yomzy1 , Thanks for the update. If none of the above suggestions worked for you. Then, as suggested before, please open a Microsoft Support ticket and share all the relevant details.

No this is not a solution
Hi @Yomzy1 , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.
This usually happens when the embedded app is doing a full cold start each time the iframe loads. That delay typically comes from heavy work in the app’s OnStart (large queries, sequential connector calls or big images) or from the app having to renegotiate authentication inside the embedded Power BI frame. Either of these can easily push the load time to 15, 20 seconds. The quickest way to confirm the root cause is to reproduce the issue with your browser DevTools, open and compare it to opening the app directly in Power Apps. If you see long XHR or OAuth calls, the delay is coming from the app/auth cold start; if the iframe sits idle with no heavy activity, the slowdown is coming from the embedding layer in Power BI.
The fix depends on what you find, but the safest optimizations are to move expensive work out of OnStart and load it lazily in OnVisible, run independent calls in Concurrent(), cache data so it’s not repeatedly downloaded and trim heavy media on the first screen. Also test in an incognito window or another browser to rule out extension and caching issues. If your DevTools trace shows delays that aren’t caused by your app, collect a HAR file, note the timestamps, include your OnStart code and any bookmark parameters and open a Microsoft Support ticket , so they can check for an embedding or auth-side regression.
