Power Bi account authenticator didn't work

I use the Microsoft Authenticator app to log into my Power Bi Services accounts but I didn't received any authenticator code from the app and I can't log into the platform. It goes into a loop asking for authorization by the app itself. I'm the admin and i can't log in to admin portal to delete my 2FA because it asking for authorization. pls help me

  • Hi Wxx - If you are locked out of Power BI due to issues with the Microsoft Authenticator app and two-factor authentication (2FA), here are some steps you can take to regain access:

    1. Try Recovery in Microsoft Authenticator App:

If you have a recovery option set up within the Authenticator app (such as a backup on iCloud or Google Drive):

    • Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
    • Use the recovery feature to restore your accounts from a backup.

    2. Use Alternative Methods to Authenticate:

If you set up alternative authentication methods (e.g., SMS or email verification):

    • At the Power BI sign-in screen, click “Use another method”.
    • Select the available alternative (SMS, email, etc.) to log in.

    3. Ask Your Global Administrator for Help:

If you are not the global admin for your organization, reach out to them to disable or reset the 2FA for your account. The global admin can bypass or reset the 2FA settings for users.

    4. Request a Temporary Access Pass (TAP):

If your organization has set up TAP in Azure AD, the global admin can issue a Temporary Access Pass to let you sign in without the need for multi-factor authentication (MFA).

    Hope this information helps.
