Power Bi On demand - API and Automatic Power Query Refresh Desktop x Service

Hi 

I am struggling with automatic refresh of data for embeded report of Power Bi as it doesn't get updated as soon as there's any data update from the API data source and I can schedule refresh only 8 times a day. 

I have created data API which pull data from a database and imported excel data then I connect through powerBi desktop and and create a report and publish it to powerBI app work space where reports are embeded in a separate web. 

The issue is whenever the data from API gets updated, I alwasy need to open my Power Bi desktop and first refresh in power query editor then refresh this in report desktop again so all the data is up to date. I don't have a problem with the 8 times automatic refresh service in powerBi app since I have a pro user but if the PowerBi desktop doesn't get refreshed, this means nothing for the automatic refresh in PowerBI app work space.

@tomerbi , the Power Bi desktop dataset file has no relation with service refresh. If you are using a file based on that dataset , then that file will get new data when the dataset will get refreshed

Does it mean I would always need to manually refresh my power query editor in order to refresh my data on powerBI desktop? The only dataset that is changing is from the REST API and whenever this gets updated, power query editor never been automatically refreshed.
