I have a few reports that have been working just fine until Friday.
Today (since morning), they take forever to load (some more than 30 minutes).
I tried a free install on a new machine, and I get the same behavior. Smaller ones load in 5-10 minutes.
If I try opening Power Bi by double-clicking on the report, it seems to remain at the "Initializing model" step.
Any idea what I can do?

HI @Abraxasnew,
I'd like to suggest you check the backend query table codes to confirm if any complex or advanced operation added in your query steps. (e.g. merge, append, combine, reference, invoke custom function...)
If this is a case, you can consed adding buffer function to prevent the duplicate resource spend on looping calculations.
How and When to use List & Table Buffer?
In addition, you can also take a look at below document about optimization tips about using power bi desktop:

I downloaded the July version from the first post, and it is working fine.
I will stick to it for now, and hopefully, MS fixes it in a future version...

Thanks! I already had 2.84.701 on both machines 😞 Seem that solved the problem from that thread. My fines seem to eventually open, but can't really work with files you have to wait like 45 minutes to load.
