Power Bi Data set over 1GB

I created a PowerBi desktop where the data set is over 1GB on my local computer, and now that I have gone over 1GB I can not publish.  How can I get around this?  What is the simplest method to make this work?  Can I upload the files to a server, or something along those lines and link to the large data files?  Looking for suggestions

Hi @jnettle,

As you known, the data set of a single pbix file you are going to publish must be smaller than 1 GB. Otherwise, you will get limitation error message. Currently, there is no direct way to workaround this limitation. You may need to reduce your pbix file size via deleting unnecessary columns, and set the Data types on the columns to the ones that they should be.

For more advice, please refer to; Power BI Performance Tips and Techniques

Besides, here is an idea about increasing the dataset size you can vote.

Best regards,

I believe that is a real limit, I think it used to be 250MB. What you will have to look at is creating the data model in SSAS and connecting to it using a "live" connection.
