I'm encountering an issue with the Power BI APP related to a slicer I use for selecting week numbers (e.g., 2025-42, 2025-20). I recently updated the slicer so that the most recent week is labeled as "Latest Week" instead of using the standard week number format, then followed by week numbers: 2025-40, 2025-39 etc. Before the change it was just week numbers.
After making this change, the entire app view went blank. I suspect this is because some users had previously saved a view with week 41 selected, which no longer exists in the updated slicer. Additionally, my slicer is sorted in descending order, so "Latest Week" appears at the top, followed by 2025-41, 2025-40, etc, but when the app page went blank, the slicer was ordered ascending with nulls and 2020-01 starting the list, which creates a poor user experience.
Is there a way to reset user-defined views so that users don’t encounter a broken or blank screen due to outdated slicer selections? Nt all of my users know where the reset button is.

Hi @maziiw ,
You’re right that this can happen when users have saved personalized views before a slicer or filter structure is updated. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to reset user-defined views globally from the Power BI App side. Each user’s saved state is stored individually, so they would need to click the Reset to Default button to clear their own view and reload the updated slicer.
If you want to make sure everyone starts fresh, the best workaround is to temporarily turn off the persistent filters setting in the report’s settings and then republish the app. That forces all users to load the default report view the next time they open it. Afterward, you can re-enable persistent filters once everyone has synced with the new structure.
Thank you,
Tejaswi.
