Power BI

When I copy the URL from the PowerBI web workspace into a PPT, the PPT will display this error. Please help!

  • Hi 99vivi ,

Thank you for reaching out! The error you're seeing  出了点问题 ("Something went wrong") is a common issue when embedding Power BI content into PowerPoint. Here are a few things to check:

**1. Use the Correct Embed Link**
Avoid copying the URL directly from your browser. Instead:
    - Open your report in Power BI web
    - Go to **File → Embed report → Website or portal** // Copy URL from the URL bar in the Browser

    - Use that generated link in PowerPoint

**2. Sign In to Power BI within PowerPoint**
    - In PowerPoint, go to **Insert → Power BI**
    - Sign in using the same Microsoft account that has access to the workspace

    **3. Verify Workspace Permissions**
Ensure your account has at least a **Viewer** role in the workspace where the report is published.

    **4. Check Licensing**
This error can also appear if either the report publisher or the viewer doesn't have a **Power BI Pro** license, or if the workspace isn't on **Premium capacity**.

Please try these steps and let us know if the issue persists. Happy to help further!

  • Hello 99vivi

File → Embed report → Website or portal

This generates a clean, accessible URL

if you have office 365 licence then you can embed Power BI Report to Power Point direct.

add power bi add in and paste link in power point
