Does Power BI allow end users to edit the underlying data in the Power BI report view?

Do you mean when the data source is updated the dataset is updated with it?
You can configure scheduled refreshes for data sources. You can refer to

If you mean writing back data from Power BI to the data source? You can refer to

Hi Anonymous ,
Power BI allows end users to view and interact with the report, but they cannot edit the underlying data in the report view. However, they can change the visualization type and properties of the visual (e.g., axis, value, legend, tooltips) using the "Personalize visual" feature.

Thanks Neeko, appreciate the response.
As those are good options, I would still look to get direct overrides to the data which I later found to be possible by embedding a power app into the dashboard and sync it with, both the data source and the dashboard. Yet, am still wondering whether there are any other alternatives to that approach.
