Power BI with Jira - Sprint field

Hi,

I connected Power BI to our Jira instance by using the Jira content pack. The problem is that the "Sprint" field value is always imported  as "[list]" and not as the real value.

Can someone please assist?

Thanks!

Hi,

Our sprint value is saved in a custom column (don't ask me why). When we extract the data to PowerBI the column shows a list value. By clicking on the the button in the Column field you can expand the list to New Rows. After that you can extract the value from the string using the extract function (tab Transform or Add Column).  In our case:

= Table.TransformColumns(#"Expanded Column1.fields.customfield_10002", {{"Column1.fields.customfield_10002", each Text.BetweenDelimiters(_, ",name=", ",goal=", 0, 0), type text}})

com.atlassian.greenhopper.service.sprint.Sprint[id=157,rapidViewId=26,state=FUTURE,name=Sprint +1,goal= text here.,startDate=<null>,endDate=<null>,completeDate=<null>,sequence=175]

I hope it helps

Best regards

Hi @rudy_evers,

Can you please expend your guide?
I see the sprint field as customfield_10007.
From here I get 2 problems:
1. When I go to Edit Queries screen I see the field as 'null'.
2. As you described - I go to Edit Queries > Transform > Extract > Text between delimiter > From here I don't know what to do 🙂

Appreciate your help!
