Power BI tenant administrator required for map visual?

Hi,

I have just started trying to learn how to use Power BI Desktop.  I am following a very basic, beginners tutorial.  One of the exercizes guides you through how to create a map visual.  When I attempt to do this, I get a message that says "Map and filled map visuals aren't enabled for your org.  Contact your tenant admin to fix this."  Does this really mean that the organization (the company I work for) chose not to enable this feature, and that there is a specific person called the tenant administrator that I would have to contact if I wanted this feature enabled?  Or is this something I might be able to get around on my own?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi PaulKraemer

When a user is signed in to Power BI Desktop, the Map and Filled Map visuals will be enabled or disabled based on their organization's admin settings. If a user on Power BI Desktop tries to view the Map visual when their tenant doesn't have it enabled, they will be prompted to ask their admin to enable it.

When a user is not signed in, the visuals will be enabled based on Options and Settings -> Options -> Global -> Security -> Use Map and Filled Map visuals setting.

You can check if you are signed in to Power BI Desktop from the top right corner of the application.

If required, the tenant administrator can enable the "Map and filled map visuals" option in the Tenant settings.
